Penn State Lyrical Line, popularly known as PLL Dance Co., is Penn State University's premier lyrical dance company. Our goal is to allow dancers to continue their passion for dance throughout college while bringing lyrical and contemporary dance to Penn State's Campus. PLL is very active around campus, participating in THON, Homecoming, Relay for Life, and performing at various events. We rehearse and condition four nights a week in preparation for our performances throughout the year.
PLL was originally created as Peace. Love. Lyrical Dance Company in 2011 by Mary Schultz and Jillian Roberts. The two friends wanted to create a company for Penn State Students to pursue their love of dance with a lyrical and contemporary foundation. With the help of original executive board members—Alex Zack, Sarah Burger, Megan Cyran, Rebecca Zajac, Steph Zaino and Marissa Machak—PLL Dance Co. became a reality in the fall of 2012.
ABOUT US
SHOWCASES
PLL presents a showcase at the end of each semester featuring small group and full company dances choreographed by members of the company. The showcases are held at Schwab Auditorium and are free to students.
THON
PLL is very proud to be heavily involved with THON! We have performed on stage at THON since 2012 and have been a registered THON org since 2013. We have two THON children, Olivia & Jolie, whom we absolutely adore. We coordinate and participate in fundraising events to support THON throughout the year.
HOMECOMING
Each fall, PLL partners with a fraternity to join Penn State's annual Homecoming events. This past year, we were honored to win the Homecoming Float competition with our partner Triangle Fraternity!
DISNEY
Every other year, PLL Dance Co. travels to Disney World on Spring Break. We take a master class with a professional Disney dancer and we perform our own choreography on stage at Disney Springs. Our girls had an amazing time over spring break this year!
